Rear Coil Over 72 El Camino install Replacing stock springs

Hi, So I'm about to throw on rear Qa1 single adjustable coil overs with 150lb springs for rear and am arguing with my dad that the springs on the coil overs replace the springs on the rear end meaning that where the stocks springs are, we take those out and only use the coil over with its springs. If someone can let me know I'd really appreciate it whether we keep the springs in the stock location and just add coil overs or take out the springs in the stock location and only use the coil overs . I want to get them on as soon as possible. Thank you.

Yep, a "COIL"over is the spring over the shock- less weight typically, and more compact.

There is more to it than what you stated... There are brackets required at the top and bottom of the new Coil Over to "Convert" but its well worth it.

Viking and ridetech are two of the best choices right now.
