c5 brakes vs 5th gen brembo

The question has probably been answered but after 2 days of following post after post with links out the ass I have no definitive answer. Is there a way I can run the 5th gen ss brembo brakes or is the c5 kit from cpp as straight forward as its gonna get? Car is a 74 nova I'm at the front suspension stage and I'd like to know as there is an abundance of either choice on my local Craigslist

Check out http://www.flynbye.com/index.html they might have what you are looking for. I know its another link but they have engineered kits using GM parts.

I'd rather buy from a reliable source like kore3.

This needs to move to the brake section!

What do you type in the search on Craigslist? I can't ever find anything? Been researching this same topic and coming up with nothing solid as well.

Sorry about the wrong section. I'm using the app and it would not let me post it into the section

Try searching ss or corvette or c5 that's usually what I get hits on

      Go to www.kore3.com

the Brembo off a 5th gen is going to be more difficult to adapt than an already designed kit like Kore3 with C5/C6

I've got the same problem. I got a set of 4 piston CTS-V Brembos for front and rear and can't find anyone that makes a bracket kit that will work for it. The only thing I've thought of is fabing my own. It does seem like quite a few guys are trying to do the same swap, weather camaro, chevelle, nova, or whatever.

I'm trying to adapt to C5 AFX spindles (the CPP knock offs) and a chevy 12-Bolt in the rears. Obviously without an E brake.

So the cts-v calipers do not bolt up to the cpp c5 spindle? They should. You then need to measure to see what rotor will fit. I'm looking to do the same thing

They won't bolt up to the c5/c6 spindles and work without using 15 or 16 inch rotors. The caliper mounting points are too long and push the caliper out past the rotor contact surface. I have a set that I'm going to make work on the c5/c6 spindle but it requires modifying the caliper mounting points. I'm going to run the 2010 camaro brembo brakes front and rear. Can't beat the price for the braking you'll get front and rear. Plus off the shelf replacement parts from anywhere .Around $700 total front and rear ( pads, calipers, rotors, brake lines etc) plus labor.

I bought the cpp c5 spindles and I found out my brakes were c4. Now I need brakes. Do the 2010 camaro brakes bolt up?

This is for the front applications. Camaro and CTS V Brembo calipers are pretty much identical. The differences are Camaro has a 14mm mounting bolt and top mounted hose the CTS V has a 12mm mounting bolt and bottom mounted hose. The C5/C6 spindles are a 14mm bore size.

I also believe you need to use the C6 Z06 14" front rotor.

Any update on this? I have some Camaro Brembo's on the way and I am also wondering if the caliper will bolt up the CPP C5 spindle.

It's possible. I've done it on my speed tech ats spindles and have seen it done on the factory c5/c6 spindles.

The 5th gen camaro caliper mounting point has to be slightly modified to be able to bolt it up.

After the caliper is modified the rotor from the 5th gen camaro has to be slightly opened up to slide onto the corvette hub. It's possible but takes some work. But once it's done you have an affordable brembo caliper on all 4 corners with 14" rotors that's made to stop a 4000# car. On top of that its less money then it cost for an aftermarket 14" brake kit on just the front or rear of a vehicle. Pads and rotors become available at any auto parts store to.

Be careful the CPP bearings are JUNK, and they know it! You need to get 2013 ZR1 hubs if you are going to autocross the car. Good luck with the Brembo stuff.....

I was thinking they should bolt on, because the 4th Gen Camaro guys are bolting the Brembo calipers to their LS1 spindles without modification. They are using Z06 rotors but the 5th gen rotor should fit once modified.

If your asking for pictures of 5the gen brembo on a c5/c6 spindle I'll try and post up pictures later today. My calipers are radial mount so the mod is slightly different. Same concept tho. On the factory 5th gen camaro none radial mount calipers there's welding required.

Below is a picture of the new mounting hole location that is needed to mount the 5th gen camaro brembo calipers onto c5/c6 spindles. The lower location in the picture is the 5th gen factory mounting points.

The upper holes are the ones needed to mount onto the c5/c6 spindles.
