My car has stock disc brakes on it. I want to upgrade to 12 inch rotors and dual piston calipers. Anyone know which would be the best route to go. I've done some research but am still coming up with nothing.

c4 swap....or c5 do seach for john maloofs web site...also david possi's site. They break it down.
Price wise you can get lucky and find a set of calipers for cheap but if you gotta have em now prices calipers are $150 each which includes the caliper, abutment, pads, & hardware.

front 98-02 lsi brake rotors calipers and cradles can be made to fit - minor machine work and new bolts and brake hose adapters are needed - oh also special caliper brackets - to mount to modifed drum spindle and hub are needed - i carry the brackets for 50$ shipped - if you need :bananna2:

cheap disc brakes:C5 disc brakes to C4 rotors

C5 Complete Calipers $100.00 is what I payed (Salavage Yard) (Ebay)

C5 Disc brake bracket kit $124.99 +12.00 Shipping (Race-tech)
http://www.racetechsuspension.com/speedtech/sptmenu.htm (http://www.http://www.racetechsuspension.com/speedtech/sptmenu.htm)
Hubs Machined Down $35.00 (local machine shop)1/8 of an inch off of the Outside diameter of your hub

www.gmpartdirect.com (http://www.gmpartdirect.com/)
2 New C4 13” Drilled and slotted rotors #10445856,10445856 $50.75 x 2

2 Stainless Steel Adapters to fit the Factory Camaro Brake Lines $85.00

1 Set of Durastop Ceramic front pads with hardware #18039366 $57.84

(10) 7/16" x 13/4" wheel studs $14.00 (Local Auto Parts Store)

A couple extra parts you may need
master cylinder
prop. valve

the reason the C4 rotor is used is because the rotor is smaller. keep in mind some wheels to not work.

Also try www.touring-classics.com (http://www.touring-classics.com/) they have complete kits for good prices if you don't want to mess with building your own kit.

I've had the stock, 12" C4, and 13" C4 brake setups.

The 0.810" thick 12" C4 front rotor stinks. The stock 11" setup with a good set of pads is just as good, if not better.

If you are going to jump in, and have the necessary room in the wheel, a 13" 1.1"+ wide curved vane rotor (GM) with either a C4 or C5 caliper is a great setup for 99.9% of all applications.

John's website has a lot of information to do the whole swap, or you can purchase the necessary bracketry from many suppliers.

Ever thought of putting the Wilwood Dynalite front hub kit on this Camaro? $714.95 total.... not bad considering it comes with 12.19" rotors 2 pce with billet aluminum hubs, 4 piston calipers, pads, brackets, spacers and hardware..complete kit. (Cross-Drilled and Slotted optional). Wanna go bigger? Yeah..I can help there too.

And as always from the PT boards Free shipping in the U.S. and a Free 6 pack of 12 oz. bottles of 570 brake fluid.

PM or e-mail me
