I was talking to a guy who told me to use a binary switch instead of a trinary with my dual electric fans. He said to wire the fans to come on when the compressor comes on, instead of waiting for the trinary signal. Any thoughts on this? Thanks

I think it depends if your using an aftermarket fan controller. I just wired my trinary switch to a DD pac-2750. This way the fans will turn on when needed and not all the time.

Yes! THis is the correct way.
If you wired the fans to come on with the compressor, they would run all the time, even on the freeway. Think about how the OE's do it. THey use pressure switches to turn the fans on when neccesary.

It should be noted that the Painless F5 has a vehicle speed sensor that turns off the fans above a preset speed, regardless of other inputs.
