Hey guys, Iam getting ready to have my 8.5" 10-bolt gone through and I wanted to set it up for more autocross racing. What would be the best set up (gear ratio, LS option , axles etc) for that? I was thinking of 3:73s with a Tru-trac but is that better than say a traditional posi unit for cornering? Any suggestions appreciated

I have the same rear....
I did Motive R&P 3.73 - G885373
Moser Axles - A102802
Eaton Posi - ETN-19557-010
The Eaton was not the cheapest, but it is rebuildable, and tuneable.
It lays black tracks like a spool!!

Might as well upgrade to 30 spline axles if you are getting a new posi. Some axles though like Moser have a fairly short brake pilot when using rear discs. Barely locate the wheel.Dutchman can make them longer.
For Eaton's check with Tom's Differentials.
