I want to put tubular uppers on my 72 Camaro, looking for suggestions on a good set that won't completely break the bank. I am doing this as much for looks as anything as I don't race or autocross the car.

I appreciate any input.

These look pretty good.

If you're doing it for looks then any brand will be fine including those QA1 arms. If you're looking for a little better handling then Ridetech is a good choice.

Thanks Dale! Obviously better handling would be nice, I have Hotchkis springs front and back and Bilstien shocks all the way around so the car does handle well. i just trying to say that I am not putting the car under a lot of corner loads or anything like that that I would need top of the line stuff.

I appreciate your input and will look at the Ridetechs.

Yep, those. QA1's seem to be just a copy of the factory design which is why they're inexpensive.

No problem, glad to give you a quote and/or help you out.

If you are just doing this for looks, I suggest not doing it at all and saving the $$. An A-Arm is not really a show-off piece. If you were talking about a performance aspect, I would say, yes, go for ours or any reputable company Arms.

Global West as well as SC&C and F Body Pro-touring all also make them.

Some have a "cant" to the upper ball joint platform area like the factory ones some are staight parallel to the cross shaft-not sure if that affects the ronge of motion of the ball joint but that is the one big design difference I've noticed.

Question for you guys, is there a reason most aftermarket arms come with poly bushings and not steel or Delrin? I thought it was recommended to stay away from poly bushings on control arms?

Those QA1 arms appear to have a ball joint plate that is closer to being on plane with the cross shaft pivots than the factory arm. This makes them better suited to taller spindles or lower spring heights. I imagine the designer had lowering springs in mind.

I would say a number of Reasons. #1 Poly is fine for most applications (our Arms have a Zerk Fitting so you can keep them Greased). #2 is Price Point - Delrin Bushings are a lot more expensive than Poly. Like it or not, we have to compete with Chinese Junk which is priced very low. Not as much on this Forum, but on others it's a Constant Battle to educate people of the why to buy American!
