What is everyone using for a shift boot on their T56 Magnums that are running without a console? I saw Finch's set up, and it looks amazing/exactly what I want... but really not trying to spend $200 on a shift boot right now. If I can't find something a little more accessible price wise, I'll go with the best, but I'm just trying to get it bolted together and presentable for now (the Finch piece is above and beyond presentable... it'll make the rest of my interior REALLY look like it needs replacing!) All the Lokar pieces I'm finding are only 6 3/4 x 5 1/4 on the outside and 5 1/2 by 4 on the inside, whereas the dimensions on the Finch piece are 9" x 6.25". The Magnums have that giant shift plate, and I'd like something that covers the entire thing in case I want to change the shifter in the future, or remove it to drop the trans, etc.

I made something similar to Finch.....
(I could not imagine how hard it is to get that many bolts in thru the plate / boot / carpet....)
I had two laser cut rings made, and used a Hurst Super Boot. The super boot is huge.....
One ring was welded to the floor, and a matching ring holds the boot down.
The Nova tunnel is very round at the top, and I wanted the boot to sit flat.
I made the rings to fit inside the last pleat of the super boot. This trims about 1.25" off each side of the boot.
It looks pretty good. I was satisfied.
I can get you the cad file of the plates, if you like it.
I'll email you a pic of the boot and you can post it here....still don't have a photobucket....

I found a ton of real good options at Lokar. They've been around forever but their new products are pretty cool.

Here is an installed picture of Randy's setup (his car).

And a pdf of his drawing of how he made it.

This is probably the route I end up going, as I want to run a leather (pleather/whatever) shift boot instead of a rubber one... Anybody else out there?
