Swap to manual m/c need help

      Guys, I know I am a nub and all...but I need help.

      72 Chevelle
      factory front disc brakes
      rear disc brakes
I want to convert from power to manual

      I purchased a m/c from Classic Performance

I have the old m/c off
      removed the booster

The push rod appears to be forever stuck in the booster
I was assured I didnt need a pushrod and could reuse the stock pushrod with the manual m/c

How do I remove that thing, I havent found the answer anywhere in any manuals or online.

      Please help.

Not sure on your MC...but most Power Brake MC's use a dimple impression where the pushrod meets the Master Cylinder. If this is the case in your situation I don't think you'll be able to reuse the O.E. pushrod from the booster. How then would you connect the pushrod to the pedal?

Also, if you purchased a Manual MC it should have came with a new pushrod. These manual pushrods usually connect directly to the pedal assembly. Did you also change the pedal assemble to a higher pedal ratio to support your change to manual brakes?

I called Classic Performance back yesterday and told them the situation. This time the person I spoke with confirmed that I was correct and the pushrod does not detach from the booster. He said they would be happy to sell me one. I passed and told him I would find it locally. This turned out to be more of a task than I anticipated. 30 mins of calls later I found a muscle car recycler that had what I needed for 10 bucks. Its actually from a Camaro.

I will be connecting the pushrod to the upper hole in the brake pedal assembly when I get back to working on it. I also switched the brake light contact to the lower hole as this was the only option and it looks as though it will work fine.
