Cable operated door handles?

Ive seen a few people use BMW or similar door handles on their custom door panels and was wondering what cables you used to operate the latch? Im using E38 BMW handles and they are much further from the latch than they were from the factory. Any ideas?

I've seen many hot rods use of all things cables for bikes .....brakes and gears...

x2 on bicycle cables. If you have a bicycle shop in your area, they usually have it in bulk and can cut and crimp the cables for you. You can also check out your local lowes/home depot and look for the cables and crimps. They have the tools to crimp the cables too (swaging or swage).
