I bought this 1964 falcon over 9 years ago from a guy out in Arizona, and did nothing with it till now. I just wanted a nice little daily driver that I could enjoy running back and forth to work in. I hope to have it going by spring will see !!!!! not going to be a beast just a fun driver, had to have a little more tire under it so I tubed it pulled the leaf springs going back with 3 or 4 link not sure yet. Will be using a 5 speed and a late model 302 or 351.... Sooooooo I thought I would post it up, see what you guy's think plus it will help me keep up with my progress.....

I think you're off to an AWESOME start on a platform with tons of resources (and yes, I am a bit bias). There are a few of us Falcon owners here and i'm sure a quick google search will find you another site with a bit more Ford Falcon peeps.

Welcome aboard and three thumbs up for the Falcon. Keep us posted on the progress.

btw... they ALL start out as 'nothing big, just a daily driver' ;)

The Coil over Shocks I was going to use ended up being to long had to order a new set should be here this Friday.
While waiting on shocks I made up the brackets to mount the Falcon on the rotisserie and I also made the frame bracket
for the pan hard bar :)

Subscribing. Love the build. Are you using a kit for the rear suspension or fabbing it yourself?

windsor,

this is the best thing I have found to remove paint ..... of course blasting is faster and better I guess, but this pad will remove paint and primer pretty fast. http://www.eastwood.com/cleaning-disc-7.html?srccode=ga220010&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=zzproduct_ads&adtype=pla&kw=&matchtype=&network=g&creativeid=27631092927&placement=&producttargetid=54067442967&gclid=CJOci4SB77sCFeJF7AodhXgAOg

Looks good. Have you looked at a convertible Falcon. I had no idea, but the torque box bracing and the under-seat bracing was crazy compared to a sedan or coupe. My buddy brought his over to work on and I was impressed how much better it was then a comparative mustang.

Look at this: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=740025

It might be a good idea to incorporate those features.

Thanks

That looks like a nice hunk of metal to start with--the outer parts look amazing! When I started on my Falcon three years ago, I thought I was going for a very mild daily driver . . . oops! The crappy paint's the only thing that stayed true to my original idea...

Michael,

thanks for the link and the information..... I would have imagined that a convertible would have a lot more bracing in the floor seeing how it does not have any support from the roof.

small update I managed to squeeze in some time to get the frame rails beefed up so I would have a good
strong frame to mount the mustang ii crossmember to. Hope to get it all welded up this weekend.

Cool build! Really like the subframe connectors! I'm curious to see the direction the Falcon goes. These Falcons seem to be getting more and more popular...you guys are making me want to find a Falcon project...which means my wife would kill me since I'm still too deep in my current project ;-)

I know it does not look like much but is sure took longer than I thought it would to just reinforce the front frame
rails. I received my crossmember from the guy's up north :) hope to have it welded up and install this weekend :woot:
