      Big inch Nascar Wheels

Hello everybody while looking at the new Goodguys mag last night I saw a red 39 Ford pickup with what looked to be 17 inch black nascar style wheels and low profile tires with yellow lettering. But I may be wrong because maby the stance and low profile tires gave the wheels a bigger look.

My question is does anyone know of nascar style wheels that come in 17 or 18 inch sizes. I would like to put some on my 69 Nova because I think it would look cool and hopefully the money I save could be put towards brakes and the CCW wheels I want could be purchased after the car has power disc brakes.

If anyone wants to see the truck it is on page 140 of the new Goodguys mag.

Thanks for any help and advice.

this would make a great wheel for race tires.

That truck is Killer but would be way cooler if it had a thumpin a$$ nascar engine in it! In my opinion the truck sounded a little too mellow for the theme............!

Not sure what size the wheels were though

Them's the wheels I've got on my El Camino.

59 bucks each in 17x9. Only downside is that they're heavy.

Thanks for all the info. But derekf brought up a good point on weight. Would they weigh alot more than my crappy rally wheels that were probaly made in another country. Also what about tires is there an afforadble 17 inch tire to replace my 225/70R15 that are on my car now.

Once again thanks for all the help.

Might be a good option if a person wanted to run a different set of tires for a track day or auto-x than they run on the street.

Not any that really show the wheels off - the side view I have is too far away to really see the wheel detail.

Quality seems just fine.. but as mentioned, they are heavy. I couldn't find an actual number online for the weight.

As for "affordable 17 inch tire", I got 4 275/40-17 Hankook tires for like 110 each from Discount Tire's website and those weren't the cheapest available... so it really depends on what you consider affordable.

      nastruck pictures

Anyone happen to have pics/specs on that 39 Ford Nastruck? I saw it at the Goodguy's Des Moines show and thought it awesome. There is some info on it on Custom Classic Truck magazine's site and some not so detailed pics of here: http://www.hotrodhotline.com/feature...tml/page_8.php
Anymore pics/specs on it would be cool.

Wow 40lbs, thats alot. But I think my fake rally wheels already weigh alot. Tommorow I plan to take a wheel off my car and weigh it to give me a rough guess. Also I like both the D Window and the Soft 8"s my question is which wheel do you guys think might look better.

Would the 17" x 8" wheel with 4.5" of backspace fit on my Nova. And what would be the smallest tire size for a 8" wheel.

Shipping weights are listed here under details for each wheel. Who knows how accurate it is.

Well I am not to sure if a 17" x 8" with 4.5" of backspace would fit. Also I am thinking of painting my rally wheels flat black. But hopefully tommorow I can put the car on my lift and check it out.
