I got my 18x10 and 18x8 Bonspeed wheels and my wheels locked up on my rack and pinion on the 69 Cam. It sucks! Going to have to use wheel spacers or try using smaller tie rod joints on the rack and pinion assembly.

I already ordered the spacers to give me more back spacing. If I had the stock front suspension I would have never had this problem with the backspacing.

Any thoughts on using wheel spacers? I'm probably gonna have to use about a 1/4" thick spacer. :drive2: :drive2: :drive2: :drive2:

You only have to do this on the front correct???? A 1/4 of an inch is not much.....I wouldn't see it being a real problem?

I agree, I didn't think a 1/4" spacer would be over the top. Thanks for the help. I have never used wheel spacers, I am concerned about them fitting loosely between the hub and the wheel. I know once I torque the wheel down it's not going to be loose, but is it going to hang down when its on? I guess what I'm asking is Will it be center when its on the hub without the wheel even being on?

if it's a quality hubcentric one it will rest on the hub circle just like your wheel would. ones that don't do this are dangerous. Make sure it has a hub center ring to support your wheel and that the studs aren't holding up the weight of your car.

Wheel studs should hold the wheel on the hub, that is all.

I have been using 1/4" spacers from Summit for 2 years as it was the only way I could get my 16" wheels to work with my C4 13" brake package. I've had no problems. I put longer studs in and retorqued a few times after some driving. I also used some spray adhesive to hold them in place centered when I put them on. I don't race the car but that's my experience.
