E46 bmw power seats video how to get power to them

So I searched and searched on this site and also on the web and I couldnt find any videos or pictures on how to get power to these seats in a pro touring application. You can find seat harnesses everywhere but you cannot find the female connectors that plug into it anywhere and the one that I did cost over 30 bucks!! So I started playing around with the wires in the harness and taking things apart and found out that you only need Two of the wires to make the seats work... Long story short I made a video. Not professional quality but good enought to get the point across. Hopefully this helps somebody else out there that is looking to do the same thing. BTW these are M3 CONVERTIBLE E46 SEATS LEATHER POWER with THE INTEGRATED SEAT BELTS... Heres the link...

Great video. I purchased a set of these about a month ago. It had the pigtail that was missing from yours, so it was easier to figure that part out. I found an old thread on wiring and installation of some bmw seats similar to these right before I bought them. Hope it helps.

Cliff notes version - fattest brown = ground and fattest red = power. I was surprised at how easy getting the basic functions working was. That link to the other thread was golden, going to get that green wire hooked up and see if it works.
Male part of the harness is what is harder to find, but here is a pic of what to grab. I'd think finding one in a yard once the seats are gutted might be possible. http://ls1tech.com/forums/16855258-post398.html
Unless your floor is flat though, I'd just do without it and connect the wires straight up, cutting the female part off the seat bottom as well. The big yellow plastic thing kind of hangs down and hits the hump in the floor.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to do that. Have been considering this myself. Interested to see what you find on the install. I noticed in the other link the seat pan was removed and required modification to the inner rockers and trans tunnel. Not sure if I want to go that far but love the seats. Saw an e46 in at the grocery and the guy was nice enough to let me sit in it to check them out. Very comfortable.

I didn't have to cut anything. Just drilled 4 new holes and mounted them with grade 8 bolts. Be sure to use a high strength washer on the bottom(or 1/8" flat plate). Those floor pans are really thin.
I would post some pics but seats are not in the car at the moment.
