I have to ask how you plan to actually fit a 24" wheel on the car?

HELLCAMINO

Yeah, I'm not diggin that 24" tire at all:jawdrop:

Cool build but are you sure you want to stagger a 24" rear with an 18" front?

Hope you're putting some big brakes on that beast! :)

What does rim size have to do with anything? It's the tire size that matters. There's a ton of pro street cars running 36 inch tall tire. As for the staggered rim size. The reason for that is I drive the car everyday and 20s or 22s don't offer enought side wall without going to big on the diameter. Not sure what brakes ill be running, most likely 13s all around.

SHould be interesting to see you build... A friend of mine has a 68 Chevelle we have yet to start on.

Let's not discuss fitment and esthetic issues for a minute.

Why would you run a tire that has tread wear of 420? You might as well run a tire made out of a hockey puck.

If you ever hope to hook up the kind of power that you are going to be making, I would suggest running the Mickey Thompson Drag Radial II. It is available in a 345/35-18, which is a 14" wide and 27.5" tall tire. It will give you plenty of sidewall, awesome grip, it will fit easier, and look a lot better.

The whole point of the project is to think outside the box. Its not about whats easy, ill leave that to the followers. Im not here looking for opinions on what i should do with MY car just showing what can be done with a little imagination.

That is impressive! You putting a roll cage in there? Given that you're welding the frame to the body, I imagine this is meant to be primarily a track car, yes?

Ls1velle
07-15-2014, 03:19 PM
100% street car 0 track time. No plan for a cage as insurance company's won't touch the car. I'll see how it handles the power and go from there.

So my first thought on the tire size was similar to others but I knew once they were on the car it would look way different than my brain was imagining. Beside the car...no way but on the car it works, kind of like the guy on here building the 30's pickup with big wheels.
