Hotchkis frontsprings with LS1?

I am about to start an LS1/T56 installation in my Camaro. Out with the old reliable BigBlock (sob) and in with the new modern stuff.

I now have Hotchkis Big Block springs and they will of course be changed.

My question is, since the LS1 is lighter than a Small Block, will the Hotchkis Small Block springs be to stiff?

What are you guys running that have LS1 engines?

Since you'll only be losing about 10-15% of your total front end weight it won't be that big of deal unless you were at the absolute limit of what you were comfortable with anyway. The main change will be a half inch or so of increased ride height. If you have double adjustable shocks, I would start with 1 click softer compression and 1 click firmer on rebound (depending on adjustment resolution). I really think you are gonna LOVE this motor! Mine listed shipping weight of 390 lbs.:smoke:

I have the hotchkis small blcok springs on my LS1 swap camaro. they still rode nice. but I dont ave a good stance picture because of the slicks and skinnies taht were on the car before. Should have the new wheels here pretty soon though.

I am not so concerned about the stiff ride, I think I can soften it a little with my shocks.

What is more important is the stance. It is perfect as it is now with the BigBlock. I don't want it to be any higher in the front.

Jan, I'm with you guess theres no set perfect spring - it will be trial and error. mine are in my car now but no motor/trans or front end - been waiting on bodyman since february :hammer: so i wont know till next year

Jan, I have the Hotchkiss springs and an LS1 in my 68 and it sits almost exactly like yours does. I think it is the perfect height. John
