Hi there. I'm getting ready to do some interior/safety upgrades to my 66 Mustang coupe and was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I'm looking for seats with headrest and an integrated 3 point seat belt, hopefully something with sound ergonomics. My wife has back problems and can't stand riding in the original style seats, so something with lower back support and comfort is relatively important.

Was thinking about Scat Elite Lumbar (http://www.jegs.com/i/Scat/942/80-1200-51R/10002/-1) seats with a $200 3 point seat belt kit for a total of around $1100, but am interested in any newer model seats with integrated seat belts that would fit with minimal modification (lowering seat riser etc) and maybe provide some modern functionality like power seats or seat warmers. If anyone has done something like this to a first gen mustang and could share what they did and how well it worked, I'd appreciate it.

BMW convertibles have intergrated seat belts with head rest and lumbar support. Some members have them install in the rides.

Anyone have any experience with which models will fit? I've heard that E46 seats will work if you lower the seat riser by 2 inches, and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the E64 seats will fit as well.

Thanks

Good question. My brother-in-law is looking to do the same swap on a 66 Mustang coupe. Do you have any pics of the car?

Lots of people doing this swap., a little search will do you good. Probably the best bet for good looking comfortable seats. There are a bunch of big GM cars that have integrated belts but the seats themselves are awful to look at and don't have any sporting abilities.
