well we took the car to the track before we start tearing into it this winter to get a few baseline passes.

Actually to my surpise the car ran very well for just a crate motor and turbo 350. I ran the car just like I drive it, 17" wheels all the way around, nothing changed.(even had my cleaning and tools in the trunk)

Car started at a 12.86 @ 105 with a 60 of 1.79..
End of the night, was a 12.72 @ 106 with a 1.71. All I did was play with air pressure in the rear tires.. (mt et dtrag radials)

Real happy, didn;t think the car would be faster then a 13.5 to be honest.. Amazing what you think when you go from a much faster 4th gen, to the old school

Thats not bad at all! Did you get to weigh the car? Was that the engine/tranny combo that came in it? Probably has a decent converter, looking at those launches on 17s.

Those are great times. What crate motor and trans setup is your car running.

Tony, didn't wiegh it, but I have the scales at a friends house so I plan on getting done anyway once we start on the suspension.. this is the same setup I bought from the guy.. Nothing changed, but a carb tune, and a oil change.

The motor is a ZZ4 crate motor, The 350 hp version. tranny is a turbo 350, with a 2800 stall.Car does have 3.73 gears, so I think that is helping it get out of the hole.

i'm not sure what I plan doing with the motor setup. I've seen so many LS1 conversions, that I'm not sure I want to go that way now. I may consider the 572 crate motor, or radiacal small block in the 500 hp + range.. Car will have to have the 6spd no matter what.

for now I'm gonig to get it to stop, handle and look the way I want. then I'll put more time into the motor setup.
