I just picked up a new project. I need to dig into it ans start stripping it down to see how everything is, but overall it does not look like a bad starting point.
Here are a few quick pics from when I picked it up.

New step is to get my garage cleaned up and get the car home.
A friend is stripping the interior and drivetrain out for me at his place, while I get my place ready.

No new pic's yet, but have picked the car up from my friend place, now that is has been stripped down to just a rolling chassis and bare body and panels.
Now time to unload the car and start laying things out and going through things to see what I need to get the body back to factory condition before the mods start.
I am looking into C6 based front suspension upgrades along with IRS rear suspension options, but may just stick with solid rear axle.
I am also looking into engine options.
I am hoping the car will split time between the track, Autox and the street, but time will tell.

The stock chassis on these cars is a very weak point and very heavy... I'd recommend going with something like our frame rather than modifying the stock one! We can leave out te rear end if you want to IRS it yourself, or we can fab the mounts in if we had an IRS too!
Just a thought :)

I am looking at several options right now for a base chassis to start with.
I am going to be lifting the body free of the chassis this afternoon, so for it looks like I will need a full floor panel, put will know more once the body is blasted in the next week or so. I already have ordered a new nose panel, 2" cowl steel hood and front fenders, as these needed to be replaced, as a start.
Once the body returns, I will start on smoothing and filling the firewall.

Nice, another pro-touring Monte guy from MA!
Looking forward to updates!
What are you planning for the drivetrain?

Planning on LS based power and if I go TT then I will go with an Auto trans if I go NA, then I will go T56. Still working that part of things out right now.
I find a turbo car is easier to drive with an Auto, is the only reason for the difference.

Sorry it took so long to reply.
Not a problem with boxing the frame as I am replacing the chassis. I am in the process of designing a new one using the original for the dimensions as I have made my mind up on a few other choices and will post a better plan or outline of the car in the near future.
As of right now the Body is away getting blasted so it can be ready for me to start the repairs and mods that will be done. I have ordered a new 2" steel crow hood, front fenders and front nose panel and rear bumper cover. Hope to know if I need to order any others in the near future.
Will post up drawings of the chassis design as I get them done.
