      I love this setup though:

Yes very. I'd really like to know what all had to be done to get the LS motor to rotate in the opposite direction(for those who don't know, Corvair engines rotate in the opposite direction from conventional engines (Left hand rotation)). Or does the Porche 215 transaxel take a right hand rotation engine?

Sorry for the Hijack Tony...Any latest news on your Vair?

Also what are your wheel and tire demensions?

they are 17x8s all around with 4.75 inches of backspacing.

The tires are all 215/40s i think. working on changing the front spoiler and fabbing a rear one this week.

The Porsche trans axle rotates in the correct way for it to work with the LS motor.

      Tony,
Now that the weather is heating up, how is the Fatmat holding up?
I'm digging the idea of coating the inside of the car w/ bedliner material. I was going to coat the bottom of my car w/ it... maybe I'll do top and bottom to REALLY cut down on the noise level. Hmmm.....

I've been driving the car every day in the recent heat. Leaving it sit out in the sun with the windows up. the only carpet in my car is the floor mats right now. Thanks to the reflectivity of the FATMAT, it's insanely hot in there. The FATMAT has not budged. If anything, it's stuck BETTER. what little odor was present when I opened the box, is now gone. The car actually smells good. There is none (yet) on the roof. I guess we'll see how that goes when I get bold enough to rip the headliner out.

Your paint and stripe combo is outstanding. I have always been a fan of Corvairs...just not a fan of going slow! I am glad to see there are others who share my goal of putting Corvairs on the same field as traditional muscle cars!

Tony don't know if you have this installed from American-PI the Safe guard.http://www.american-pi.com/safeguard/safeguard2.html
Makes a huge difference in the timing and smoothness of the motor, if I was to pick the one best upgrade for the buck the Safeguard would be it.

I've heard that before Dave. I don't have one. But I think I'll take you up on it and get one.

I've also decided to get rid of my exhaust. I HATE it. Either Im going to go with stock manifolds and "big single" or something. Any suggestions?

      Turbo-charger???

Your little 'Vair looks better every time I see it Tony. If I could have all the toys that I wanted, a cool little number like your's would be among them.

LOL! One of these days I'm going to get the shots I want. I always seem to be rushing at the last minute.

Thanks. It's a work in progress for sure. Im glad you dig it. Judging by the number of PMs and emails I get on it, the tide is turning in the corvair's favor. In an age when a rusted beaten hulk of a camaro still fetches 7 or 8 grand, the corvair becomes a pretty attractive option.

      Corvair coolness

Refreshing to see passion for something other than the "Mainstream" PT stuff, and still looking very cool. (No offense to anyone).
