Heavy yes, cheap yes, very strong yes, I have said it before all 4 of my wheels cost less than one nice aluminum wheel and they arent much heavier than a cast aluminum wheel.

Areodynamics is the reason, these cars have a huge grill that basically turns into a parachute at high speed and makes the whole front of the car just float at high speeds. I am forcing the air to go around the front not through it. It is a open road racer so It will spend most of the time above 130 mph.

Scott, are those 66 Chevelle hood scoops on a Pontiac. or the whole hood?

It's a stock '67 Chevelle SS hood on a '67 Chevelle wagon. Nothing special. But I like the look over a stock 'flat' hood. The little scallop stripes add some flavor.

I have a similar scallop stripe on the roof, following the bodyline up there.

I am not sure if this qualifies as a PT vehicle or not?? But this is our 55 Chevy wagon. 16" front and 17" rear Billet Specialties rims. Tubular control arms, front disc brakes, front and rear sway bars. Small block with a th350 and Vintage Air.

      Awesome cruiser!!

You guys have some VERY nice wagons. Here's mine.

Soon to start a build thread. It's awaiting a 347 with TF205CNC heads, big Comp Cam, and a small shot of juice. As it is, It has ran a best 13.37@103. Plans include bigger brakes, stronger 5 speed new paint and wheels.
