      The top of the intake is now finished and when I stopped by Visner's shop, he had one of the side rails in the CNC machine. 10 hours of milling for each side. Next he will fit and weld the lower half of the intake together and fit it to the top before cutting the holes for the custom throttle bodies.

      SICK!! It's hard to find words for that beast! I bought my wife a '74 Firebird for mother's day and I showed her the rendering of this and she said 'WHOA'! It was a good 'whoa', not a bad one!

      Here is a picture of the driver's side fender. You can see where we stretched the panel, covered the running light openings, closed out the flares and added the side vents.
      Pretty much the same problem I have on my build. The flares look great in the drawings but don't work on the car unless you change the door lines and massive body work like Jake's Rod Shop did on their camaro. The link below is to that build.

      I really wanted the look of having the flares but they aren't drivable without major surgery.

      Beautiful car, and terrific work. Cant wait to see the finished product...at the rate you are going it wont be long! My 73 TA is at approximately 1100 hp on 15 psi boost with the single turbo, so your hp goal in the 1300-1500 range is easily attainable. Lynn McCarty is presently building "pontiac" blocks into the 800 ci range, and my hope is to build one with a single turbo. Can anyone say "mild mannered 2500 hp"?

      I know, but the funny thing is....THEY ARE. Turbo cars are so unlike the fire breathing, high compression, snotty cammed high HP race engines. My car hit 1064 hp before I added the methanol injection, yet its very quiet and very mild mannered. Basically because its a low compression 462ci engine with a relatively mild cam. Idles at 900 rpm quietly with barely any lope. 15 psi of boost basically doubles the hp my engine would make without the turbo. Not to mention it runs on 91 octane.

      Now imagine 800ci and a bigger turbo.

      Nice ride. 800 cu. in - that is absolutely insane. I agree with your "mild mannered" comment. The builder of my car just finished a 1200hp Camaro with twin turbos and it rides and drives like a normal car until you get into it - then the party starts! The turbos produce a consistent level of power through the entire band. I will have the ability to adjust my boost from 5lbs to 25+lbs on the fly while I am driving. This should provide just over 700hp and the same torque on the low end and 1,500+ hp and the same torque with high boost.

      If you have any questions about boost in general or boost with pontiacs specifically hop on the performanceyears.com tech forums, and go under the boost section. Tom Vaught hangs out there a lot. He's a senior engineer at Ford and does a lot of their boost designing, but he's also a pontiac fan. There are other guys there with a lot of knowledge in this area too.

      Again, that car looks incredible.

      89 TPI motor w/ 1pc rear seal coupled to a Viper T56 via Mcleod's modular bellhousing w/ hydraulic T/O bearing from the Viper, 12 bolt rear w/ 3.73 gearing, SC&C upper control arms, factory lowers with Delalums, C5 brakes at all four corners, Front Wheels 17x8's with Sumi 255/40/17 and Rear Wheels 17x9's with Sumi 275/40/17.

      If you look at pics of the real car theres nothing limiting the steering.
