I would run an Air gap RPM and a Holley 750 with the top milled, or possibly a 830 annular discharge Holley. The carb and intake are way to soft. your gonna need some flow at 6700RPMs or so she will turn. You do not list compression, but I hope you are 10+ or at least very near to that with that much stick in it. We have had similar 350s, with similar compression, cams, induction, etc, deep in the 12s. Your weak link is first the 5 speed as the 87 is not even a World Class unit, and they are not much stronger. if the transmission lives and it hooks hard, the rear will go next. But if you get a pass out of it without breaking, she'll run for a little Pee Wee.

Its just a street car its been to the dragstrip 2 times in 3 years. FYI the world class was a option in the high end Fbodies in 87 it became standard in 88.
The compression will be between 10-10.5 to 1

Okay, well since those F-bodies could only be had with a 305 IF it was a manual car, we're only talking maybe 220-235ft. lbs. Even though they could handle the HO 305 rating of 240 ponies, I doubt along with Frank that your tranny will hold up-but you'll find that out if you get it to hook as Frank already mentioned. -Jabin

It is going to take me some work to the rear suspension before it is going to hook and i will also need some cheater slicks or some real slicks. My kumho's are not going to hook. This is just my weekend cruising car. Ive had my 355 in the car for about 3 years now and its still holding up im not trying to drive the car into the ground. But the transmission is in the works that will be next. It will probably be getting a tremac tranny. I hope the rear end holds up for awile cuz it is on down my list i figure it should for awile since i just dumped $600 in it 500 miles ago. If the carb ends up being to small i have a 750 double pumper on the car right now i can just reuse that one.

Very good setup, Except for the carb.. You will run out of fuel with the 670... Go 750DP for sure.. Realistically there is only a 2-5hp difference from the RPM to the AIR GAP.. 1 7/8 headers would yeald another 15hp.

If the tires hook the WEAK 5 speed will brake..

The really weak link is the gears in the rear end... Ive installed 4 sets of gears in mine.. always brake when i do a burnout or hit second gear hard.. I have an auburn carrier and it works well..

Your motor is very close to mine except mine isnt a roller cam.. My car with a TH350 and a 2500 stall ran a best of 12.8 at 109mph CONSISTANTLY in the 1/4 mile with 3.73 gears on 275 40 17 yokahoma streat tires

At that time i had a RPM intake and 750 vacume secondary and a very large COMP cam with 250/255 duration and .519 .523 lift with roller tiped rockers.. and 1 5/8 headers running threw the exhuast..(car weights 3800lbs with driver)

The roller cam will make alot more lowend torque so i would think your car should run mid 12s easy..

Hey guys i appreciate the comments. Im working on getting the whole drivetrain sound just doing little by little unless something breaks. But i only street drive so i figure it will last awile untill i can buy better stuff. As for the carb i have both the 750dp and 670 avenger i figured i would try both and see which one works better. Whatever this motor puts out is better than the 250 horse it has right now.
