Pontiac Type II Power Steering Pump

      Hey everyone,

So for all you Pontiac engine guys out there you know there is no one that currently makes a mounting bracket for a type 2 power steering pump. Well things have changed!

I am currently having brackets and pulleys made for my Pontiac 400 engine that will accept a type 2 power steering pump.

The bracket system is being made by "2nd gen Pro Touring & custom F body". They can be contacted on Facebook and here is the company's Facebook link

      https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=344565055691431

Here's a picture of the custom pulley and bracket set up that will support the type 2 pump.

Be nice if they could do one below the factory alternator spot where the "regular" PS pump is.

      Nice looking motor!

I'm assuming you would want this so you would have the capability to run an air conditioner correct? Otherwise the experience I have with external reservoir or modified pumps is there is sometimes and interference between the pump and the alternator. So moving the alternator to the other side is actually a really good idea. But yeah I understand your desire to move it back to the original location due to the air conditioner.

I think the manufacturer is watching this thread so maybe he can chime in and offer a possible modification for you if you're interested in purchasing from him. It's a custom fabrication shop so they could probably do it for you.

By the way here is a picture of the power steering bracket. It's very nice. I'm still waiting on them to complete the alternator bracket, they are very fast, the power steering bracket was done in a couple of days

Or just have the passenger side look "clean", but the possibility to have A/C- I mean two black cars with T tops in Texas!

      Can I ask...

-What this is the price on the bracket?

-What vehicle I would get a power steering pump from?

-If they made a bracket to clear the stock alternator position I would certainly be interested.

Glad you chimed in Wim, I was going to post that I'd talked to you about these brackets a couple years ago and JT should get in touch with you. Small world!
