Machine Shop Manager

A. L. Johnson Company, a division of GC International, Inc.,is seeking a machine shop manager to help expand and improve our machine shop.

A. L. Johnson is a 59 year old supplier of aluminum and zinccastings to the medical, aerospace, and defense industries.

The successfulcandidate will have the following capabilities:

· Have 5 plus years’ experience managing a machineshop with sales in excess of 4 million dollars with 10 or more employees.
· Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and leadproduction employees.
· Understand how to machine castings.
· Strong organizational skills
· Have experience with vertical and horizontalmills as well as lathes.
· Experience using CAM software. (Surfcam would be a plus.)
· Experience quoting machining of castings.
· Experience designing and creating fixtures.
· Understand GD&T call outs and requirements.
· Experience with shop management software wouldbe a plus.
· Work with QC department to ensure parts meetcustomer requirements.
· Confer with engineering, supervisory, andmanufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
· Experience with AS9100 a plus.
· Understand programming of HAAS CNC machines aplus.
