I plan to turn this into a fastback, powered by a Coyote with some kind of power adder. I don't yet have the budget for all the things I want to do so this will take a while. I'll work on things as I can afford them. I plan to build it so that it looks pretty stock from the outside, aside from a few changes. I plan to run it lower than stock with larger wheels and tires that disappear up into the fender wells. The interior will not be stock at all. I won't have a back seat, that will be filled by the wheel tubs. The instrument cluster will be a digital display and the seats will be a modern bucket.

I plan to install a 4 link rear and modern A arm front suspension. I'll extend frame rails to stiffen up the Unibody and will install a roll cage.

The car I am starting with is not much more than a template. It is a good reference point for where all the new stuff goes. It is a rust bucket and I will ultimately end up replacing pretty much everything.

So, now that I have stated my plan, I have no choice but to make it happen.

You have your work cut out for you. Is that booger welds on the metal that’s all rusted? I’m glad to see you’re converting it to a fastback. Have you priced out the sheet metal needed yet?

This looks like a good build. Best of luck

Good luck with the project mate. Those shock towers are a pain in the ass on the Mustang (Wife has a '66). I wish i'd have gotten rid of them and gone with a double a-arm setup.

A lot of that was some kind of resin goop. Somebody poured it over every hole they could find.

Thanks. If I am going to put the Coyote in, the shock towers have to go.

I found the kits priced around $6k. I would like to keep the A pillars but with as much rust as I have seen, they probably have to go too.

Making some progress on the front. The whole front was kind of a mess so it all has to go. The shock towers are not coming back since I am going with a modern front suspension.

Very cool project. You have a lot of work ahead, but you got a great start on it!

Thanks. Yes, I may have bitten off a little too much but we'll see.

I have started on a custom hood for my next project. I'm trying this out for looks. I really like the wide, low look from the recent Super Snake.

I decided to use the lines already in the hood and make it a little wider. Time to break out the plasma!

Nice work. I had my doubts but it looks great. Getting rid of those shock towers is a good move. They're really annoying on my '66.
