That explains why I had to order 2 for this one. It's actually a 1-1/2 and the first time I ordered 1-3/4. The big sockets are scary.

Staying at home is taking a toll. No one who makes brake lines has ever seen this piece:

I really don't know if it's unique to B bodies or "something happened" in the last 50 years. Everybody wants me to use the Camaro piece. The Camaro piece isn't thick enough. I didn't want to wait for Tuesday to get to the machine shop so I chucked the fitting I had in a drill and got something that looks like it goes there.

The original looks like someone welded an AN fitting (well, except that looks like a 45 degree angle) to part of a brake hose or something. Yours looks way better.

What is that adapter supposed to be?

It's the frame pass through from the hard rear brake line to the flex line.

Earl's makes all kinds of adapters like this, with a huge combination of ports types on either side.

I think I've made almost every brake line mistake possible in the last two days. I had to make new rear axle hard lines because of some changes and haven't worked with brake lines in a couple of years. I made the last ones but was never happy with the bends. I was more careful this time around and had the open space to work in. Forgot how to flare lines, read back up on it, couldn't get a decent flare, realized I was using a 1/4" die on 3/16" tubing, bent a 90 degree corner the opposite direction, almost finished the last one, got a nice flare and forgot to put the fitting on first. Probably wasted 5 feet of tubing.
      Finally got some results:

No idea why the picture is loading upside down, not something I usually have issues with.
Still need flex lines to the calipers but closing in.

Currently the stock C6 coupe tire sizes. I think I can go up to a 305 in the rear without issues.

This is getting beyond ludicrous. Still waiting on the front lower control arms in order to set the engine in. Highlight of this week was getting some longer rear brake lines to go with the new hard lines. Also got the new bump stops in a while back.

Think I'm going to swap out to Global West rear control arms but that doesn't keep me from moving forward.
Also got on the paint schedule for Sept/Nov so there's that.

Almost literally watching paint dry. Cut down the non-convertible cross member and drilled to fit my car this afternoon. Nice to move a big piece along.

Got a hold of a couple of people at Global West last week and was promised I could "bank on" my control arms shipping Monday or Tuesday. Hoping it comes through so I can sit the body back down and start pulling out the interior.

To keep something moving, I also got the headliner back in my E46 BMW today. Decided to use suede. Very appy with how it's turning out.

      Progress...

Doing my least favorite job on the entire car. Installing front coil springs. External spring compressors don't work on this car and you have to walk the internal compressor up around the coils to get enough compression. The original GM service instructions look like a suicide mission, btw.
One down. These are 600 lb springs...

That's a tough job without the weight of the car to help out.

Think I'm calling it a rolling chassis again. Number 2 spring installed. Sitting at donk ride height.
Next thing is put the body back on and pull off parts for paint.
