Another Ride Tech 2 thumbs up!!!

I have the ride tech four link with coil overs on the rear and just did a swap out for a set of ride tech coil overs on the front and I must say what a HUGE improvement over what I took out. Great quality as always. I also had Forgeline widen my front wheels to a 18x9.5 and went with a 275 front tire. I still need to bring the front down a bit but want to see if the springs will settle in a bit first. What great ride quality!

Hello from Alberta. I have a 4 link question; how is the differential noise? I installed a ridetech 4 link over a 6 year build, I only briefly drove the car with leaf springs and dont recall the diff being noisy. first drive after resto-mod and the rear was very noisy. I have since put 2 new sets of Motive 3.73:1 gears and they both have gear noise. it seems as though the hard connection from the diff to chassis is exaggerating the noise factor? Anyone experience this?

If it has heim joints it will transmit more vibration. Your new gears could be noisier too.

Hello Don, yes it has the heim joints. My gear contact pattern looks good, i am on the second set of Motive (orange box) gears with pretty much the same results. i added NOICO (foil back butyl) as well as MLV in the trunk yesterday, topped by the molded carpet. i have not driven the car again yet.

Road test, same gear whine, drive and coast in the 45 to 60 MPH range.

3:73 gears are noisy. The heim joints only make it worse by transferring it through the whole car. You can swap the adjustable end back to rubber but you will still have the gear noise that is currently present although it may be less.

Bought a new Mustang in 2012 and put JRi shocks on it. Bearing mounted top and bottom, suddenly you could hear the every bearing in the rear end humming. Stock rubber mounted shocks back on, no humming.

One of the things I have done to quiet things down is to replace the cardboard trunk divider with Dynamat covered aluminum sheet cut to an exact fit and screwed to the braces. Also put Dynamat on the wheel tubs. Jute and Dynamat under the rear seat.

Donny, thanks for the info on the noise transmission you experienced on your Mustang, i think a lot of my noise is transmitted this way too.

Maybe a silly question, but have you confirmed correct pinion angle?

This is a gear whine versus a vibration.
      Thanks
