Trans Am, Camaro forward tilting hood

Thought I would share with you how we did a forward tilting Trans Am Hood!

Took about 40 hours in labor due to the complexity of redesigning the hinges and major construction on the hood.

Pretty cool,I did one on my el camino years ago. I split the stock hood hinge apart, put a stainless roller bearing on the hood section, made the lower section into a catch guide. Modified a buick mechanism for the front. Probably had about 40 hrs in it by the time it was done & then painted. In usual fashion, I got into another project (2010 Camaro nose conversion) & it wouldn't work with the pointy nose. I recently sold it to a friend for $150.He got off easy for all the time I spent , wouldn't you say??
Made my current hood mechanism ,which is further refined & prettied up since the video on my link. It made the tilt forward project seem like childs play by comparison.
