      Which head gasket to use?

489 (.030) zero deck, aluminum heads, 6200 max rpm aprox 10:1 depending on thickness of HG..
FelPro 375-1037 has been suggested. Iron block, aluminum heads..
MLS? This is a street motor, not boosted, no nitrous.
Everyone seems to have their opinions on what to use, block/heads not o-ringed.

      Thanks for any suggestions.

I ran the FelPro 1037 on my 496 BBC and never had any problems. My engine specs were almost identical to yours.

If the head and deck surface are smooth enough it is hard to go wrong with an MLS like a Cometic, but I would bet a plain FelPro type would be more than adequate unless you need extra thickness you can get(0.051 etc) from Cometics.

I also used Cometic just in case I decide to add some NOS at a later date to catch a couple of those LS cars. Just an FYI if you can find some Mr.Gasket head gaskets they are made by Cometic and are half the price. At least they use to be.

I ran fel pro's until my boosted motor popped one, Now I run Cometic MLS and never had a problem. Boosted or not I would run these gaskets. I found Cometics restamped as trickflows as well, similar to what Todd ^ above me said.
