Quick update on the LeMans as it gets close to completion.

The car is running and driving but still missing the front fenders, nose and hood. All the wiring is complete along with the brakes. We are waiting on the seats and for Buck to finish painting the front end. Also our cage needs welded in.

I stopped by Bucks (the body shop) and he has the nose fixed, one fender primed and installing the patch panel on the second fender. It is getting close.

We are hoping to use the GM Nationals autocross course as a test and tune course for the LeMans. So we are hoping to have it there!

Can't wait to see it! I'll have my 72 Lemans up there, she's not quite as impressive as your build but still coming along.

Beginning to install the cage. We are waiting for the seats to arrive before welding it in fully. We also ordered Weld RTS wheels that should be in shortly.

To run all 4 wheels the same size so we can rotate we played it safe and ordered a 18" x 9.5" with 5.700" BS. We will then run 275's on all 4 corners.

Buck is pumping away at the body shop to get this completed for next week. He is blocking the last fender right now. We had a few small snags on parts, rear bumper brackets and some small misc items holding us up but its coming along nicely.

More pictures to follow shortly. Wheels should be shipping from Weld any day now.

Okay, time to get this thread updated, a lot has happened! I will try to post these in order.

First, wheels and tires are in. We are running the Weld RTS wheels, 18"x9.5" with a 5.7" BS all the way around. I really wish we had built in more BS though. We planned on running the Bridgestone RE71-R tires because we have been having great luck with them, however they were out of stock so we went with Hankook RS3's in 275's.

Wheels on the right are for the LeMans. Left wheels are for one of our 4th gen Camaros.

Well finally getting back to some updates on our Lemans. We were able to participate in two events last year until we had an engine failure. The car felt good but we really didn't get much testing completed. We knew the engine was a weak link since it was a used junk yard pull, but didn't anticipate this weak. After taking the engine apart it just appeared the engine had a rough life with minimal oil changes.

The engine is out of the car and is at Conklin Racing Engines, the block checked out good and the building has begun. All the engine internals came from Texas Speed. We also are installing a Holley baffle in the Holley 302 pan to help prevent oil starvation. We also have a set of AFR Mongoose 230's that came in and the should compliment the Magnuson nicely. A T56 Magnum from Bowler Transmission on order and it should be in shortly. Things are moving along well.

I am not 100% sure. We sent in the info on our current Baer Track 4 set up and Weld verified it would clear them.

Thanks Randy! I was checking your car out as well. I'm a huge fan of stock rustic paint, love it. I've been slacking so bad on updates, I will get a few things posted for sure shortly. Thanks for checking in.
