      Flatout 53 gmc

I bought this truck when I was 15. It was in tall grass but everything was there. Then for the next two years me and my dad and little brothers built it from frame up. We grafted a g body subframe and dropped a 350-350 turbo-10 bolt drive-train. I had ps, pb, tilt wheel and heathy cam and deep exhaust. It was a killer truck for a young gear head.

Now may taste is refined and my abilities have improved vastly. So I'm building it again from frame up after sitting out in the back yard for 11 years. I want it to handle good and throw you back in the seat hard.

I replaced both kick panels with parts from Brothers trucks. So far their panels fit nice.

Thanks Eddie, I agree. I wanted something close to the Trans-am racing look but updated for big brakes.

I'm going with a 3 link in the rear with ridetech shocks. Here are a few pics of mockup.

No upper link yet, I will start building brackets as soon as I get time off work.

It's good to see this one back under the knife--I've always like the body style!

Im just now trying to learn about restoring and working on cars. Are you using a plum-bob for reference while installing the rear suspention? Is this the most common way to do it?

Probably not? I just make due with what I have,if I can make it work. Everything will be adjustable when finally put together at that time the measurements get more precise.
