Wanted to add a little zip to the calipers. Grinded the faces, stripped them, ordered some free color swatch samples & then stencils off of flea bay, and sent them out for powdercoating. Ben did a superb job and will be using his services again in the future. T

Gates heat shrink clamps on the heater hoses are trick. Buttoned up most of the HVAC stuff yesterday. Rolled the 80 over to the lift today for the T-56 trans/diff conversion. Last pic is Dinsdale with his fan club. T

Picked up some nice big cadmium plated bolts for the motor mounts. Dropped in the steering rack & motor hoepfully for the last time. Rear tow hooks to find a new home. T

Moved & custom modded the 6 spd shifter base today. Eventually a MGW shifter will sit on top. Also calibrated the Porsche speedo with a Dakota Digital unit in a similar build my partner is doing, only his is with a Porsche 928 S.C. motor connected to a T-56. Great project.

Are the 928s made out of stainless steel? I don't know why I think this...

Front fenders, hood, & doors are aluminum. Roof, hatch & rear quarters are galvanized steel. These older 928's (1978-1984) weigh approx 3175lbs. The LS3 motor is approx 150lbs less that the stock motor it replaces, and the C5 tq tube, trans/diff is approx 50lbs more than Porsche set up. Just Peachy should weigh approx 3075lbs when finished. T

Thanks Randall. The physical dimesnions of the LS motor are actually smaller (especially up top) than the dual overhead cam motor that it's replacing. Also will have 525 vs 219 h.p. with approx 150lbs less weight. Will now be able to get to the sparkplugs & exhaust manifolds from above with plenty of clearance. Got to love modern technology. T

      Tony,

Do you have a link to the kit that allows for the installation of the C5 t56 in the 928?
