I did some plumbing on the engine. Just waiting for my fuel lines to come in. Also installed the new custom gas cap.

Installed the exhaust system today and finally got the motor started. I bought it in 2005 so its been a long wait. Had a little hiccup with a pinhole in the oil pan weld. Had to pull the header and re-weld. Easy fix! Engine sounds Awesum! Also did some more wiring and plumbing on the car.

Car should be ready to go to upholstery by the end of the month. Anyone know a good upholstery guy in northern ca? Here is a pic from the internet of the leather colors i have picked out. Two tone brown and black. Not using the pattern in the picture!

If you ever think about it while you have your car up in the air on the lift, could you measure your axle housing from either flange to flange or mounting surface to mounting surface?

WMS to WMS is 48 1/4. In order to make that axle width work you will have to remove the original frame rails and make new ones out of sq. stock and weld them in parallel to each other.

Impressive work there! That blacked out exhaust section makes everything look super clean!

thank you SO MUCH! I have a TCI 3 link rear setup, and a Detroit mini tub kit that narrows the framerails. I also modified my 3 link by moving the link arms to inside the framerails. I LOVE how yours looks with the deep dish wheels, it is the exact stance im going for.

you should look up DJ Designs in Hayward, CA. I have an appointment to drop my car of to him 3/9 and that took my months to get, so, he is definitely busy. He is the best in NorCal though.

New steering wheel showed up today. I ordered it in a brushed aluminum finish so should go nicely with the brush panels on dash.

Thanks Syborg. As soon as i get the hood installed it should look like a real car again. Second guessing these wheels as i purchased them 7 years ago. Thinking of something that has a little more "pop" to them.

Looks great. Beautiful car. With the glass scoops and such they are a bolt on and thus can be painted underneath. With the steel how do you paint inside and keep water from getting trapped and causing issues?
      My half a$$ed build thread.https://www.pro-touring.com/threads/...elle-6-0-4L60E

Tighten it till it strips & back it off a quarter turn.

Good question as i addressed these issues with the painter before i built the scoops. The inside of the metal was treated before i welded them on. He also painted inside them as best as he could. He advised me to never wash the car with water as he has a system of cleaning that will help keep scratches and swirls to a minimum. I did make little soft rubber plugs that fit into the scoops should i have to hose it down to get it clean.
