      Mid Ohio 8/9/12

Kim and I had the oppertunity to attend a 10/10ths Motorsports HPDE track day at Mid Ohio on 8/9/12. We were in the novice group (green) so we had an instructor with us the entire day. Kim had a gentleman named Lee and I was fortunate enough to get Danny Pop...yes Danny Pop was my instrucor!!!! There were six on track sessions with two class room sessions and we got about 2.5 hours of on track time. What an amazing experiance!!! The staff and instructors made us feel very comfortable and right at home. I used to have my SCCA competition license (2004-2006) and have done numerous HPDE events and this was by far the best instruction, atmosphere and track time I have ever had.
I highly recommend this group to anyone who wants some quality track time. They really make you feel at home and safe.

This pic was taken about one second before my back end came loose and I spun around and had all four tires in the grass. Yes I was mowing the lawn!!

Funny thing was that during the whole spin I was laughing my head off...even with the tire wall approaching!! Thank God we didn't hit the tire wall!!

After my ride along with Danny it was time for my last session on the track. With Danny in the passenger seat we headed out for my best laps all day!!

      Doug,

Thanks for the GREAT write up and very glad that Kim and yourself could attend. It was a pleasure to be able to instruct you , and Lee and I had a blast in doing so......Lee even had requested that he should instruct your better half after their conversation the night before .

The weather didn't start so well, but very glad that it got better throughout the day, regardless you were a tropper adn we were out there in that Monte SS with no ABS in the wet !! Brakes were awesome in that car, but the automatic transmission with loose convertor were not our friends for sure in the wet conditions.......creating that grass in the wheel picture....glad that is all that happened !!

Also glad that you and she enjoyed your rides in the instructors cars...Snoopy was a little down on power that event, which calmed it down slighly....If you think that ride was violent, we will need to resample that ride again soon :>)

Look forward to entertaining more Pro-Touring community guests, teaching them how to run roadcourses safely....and FAST.. :>)
