1st Gen Camaro - Fender well install question

I have a simple question. Is the fender well where it mates to the fender at the wheel opening supposed to go on the outside or is the well supposed to tuck inside the lip? My well was installed on the inside of the fender lip but I'm not sure it's correct because it made trying to get the well out nearly impossible. I ended up pulling the whole fender. Anybody got a picture of what's correct?

1st Gen Camaro - Fender well install question

Don't have a pic bit it tucks under. The bolt screws thru the fender and into the inner fender.

It's all most imposable to R&I them with the fenders on the car without damaging something.

pics of wheelwell on car...notice welded "nuts" towards fender..

Pic of fender mounted... Notice "Blue" of paint, not "black" of wheelwell... hence, mounted inside fender... Hope this helps...

Yes it helps. I hadn't separated the well from the fender yet so I wasn't aware of the welded nuts. So is the well supposed to be mounted to the car first or to the fender first? I'm just trying to get the easiest reassembly order. Thanks!!

It is MUCH easier to mount the well to the fender first...

Thanks I thought so but have seen so many pictures with the bare wells installed that I was curious. It's not every day that I reassemble the front end of my Camaro.
