SEMA thrash is on. Trevor and Kevin elected to use a chassis dyno to properly run the engine through its first heat soaks and check out all systems. Everything checked out fine.

Our pwm fan controls worked great and were nice and quiet. While they did not make any hard pulls yet, it looks like Dave Mikel's tune is great so far too.

Bruce and Matt, of Hytech Auto Trim in Columbia, Ill. did a very nice job installing the headliner, carpeting and fabricating a rear seat to match the Recaro front seats.

Dakota Digital Gauges and dash installed.

Roll cage modifications made to make it as discreet as possible complicated the headliner install but it all came together in the end.

Looking good!! I like the suade inserts on the seats, looking to eventually do that to at least my fronts at some point.

The grille is coming together, just as planned.

Final assembly is getting exciting as the V8TV team brings all of Dan's design elements into real life.

Well, the car was in the Toyo Tires Tread Pass area at SEMA last week.

That turned out to be a really nice spot to display the car because the sunlight really causes the color to pop. The color we chose looks more orange in the sun and more red in the shade.

Here are some pics taken while the car was on display there:

I am a real stickler for detail and function. This is my kind of build!

Once you get some time to play with it; please post the intake air temp's and intercooler coolant you managed to achieve with your 55gpm pump and dual fan heat exchanger.

Wow, that car turned out amazing!! How much power did it end up putting down on the dyno?

While at SEMA, a lot of great people (including some of you ) came by to see the car.

To preserve the moment, we asked a few of our "heroes" to sign the car while they were there. Here's a sampling:

Tom Peters, GM's Director of Design for the present day Camaro:

Al Oppenheiser, GM's Chief Engineer for the present day Camaro:

Mark Stielow, also from GM but more importantly the father of Pro Touring:

Charley, who assured I had the Pro Touring bug by taking me for a ride down the drag strip in Jack Ass during Power Tour 2012:

Kyle Tucker, who along with his wife Stacy, created many of the parts we used to build this car:

Later, at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago, I was totally blown away and honored that these two gentlemen showed up to see the car:

Eric Stemmler, the person I bought the car from:

Chris Dunham, the person Eric bought the car from:

      How Cool is that??!!!

Another opportunity came up when my good friend Kelly invited me to her recent hangar party. It turns out one of her flying buddies is Bob Lutz, world renown car guy. He signed a copy of Dan’s rendering:

Last but certainly not least, the V8TV crew that built the car signed it too:

Very cool. It's neat to have some recognition for your build, right?

What a great way to close out the build of a great project, especially getting Bob Lutz to sign a copy of the rendering! I hope I get to see this one in person one day!

The trim on our car is actually a black rubber molding instead of the original metal trim painted black. V8TV has a local glass installer who is able to build the mounting surface up so that standard glass is effectively flush with the use of a "standard" rubber molding. It's really slick, yields the flush glass look, and it was relatively inexpensive compared to other flush glass options we found out there. The REALLY nice thing is that now if I ever need to replace the windshield, it's just a standard windshield vs. an expensive one made for flush glass installs.
