They are a lot better skills than mine, I have never even welded before haha! I agree the gas cap takes away from the clean look but I like it for the body colored rear bumper and spoiler. The mustang is Kevin Tetz's “Project Jaded” '66 Mustang from sema.

Ya he has a build page on here. Beautiful car but there are things I don't care for, but that's his car not mine. It does make me want an emerald green color though, perhaps olive drab and really piss everyone off.

Look up John Parsons' II Much Nova. The deck lid spoiler like that would look good on yours.

Car is looking good. I agree with the others leave the caps on with the spoiler. I just don't see it ever looking right without them.

      Ya, not bad

After looking up different angles of the current one I have, it has started growing on me again.

And then I came across this:

What's a good coating to get for the underside of this thing? I want something textured, glossy and black. I've seen some of the spray sound deadener has a grey/purple hue to them.

I'm a huge fan of the roll on bedliner for the underside of my cars. Did it in both 66 coupes and my 65 Falcon. The Falcon is a daily driver right now, rain, snow (un-nerving), etc... and it's holding up really well.

Now that looks nice, not too shiney. How long has it been on, hows it holding up?

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

My coupe is Herculiner I believe. Whatever brand had Kevlar mixed in....
The wife's coupe and my falcon are Rustoleum brand. The rustoleum has less sheen and a smoother surface.

I've been fabbing up trunk pans so not much to look at. I did shave my bumper bolts and fix the crocked end piece it had. I'm now knocking around an idea to smooth the license plate cut out and drop the plate down a little. I think I'm going to do it but am gonna leave it in my "fab paint" (tape) and sleep on it.

Also, I picked up Herculiner for my pans but I have to wait till Xmas to open the box I bought.

Great progress on the updates! The bumper is definitely a lot cleaner look with the area closed in. The license plate doesn't look too low. I vote for the end caps on the spoiler.

Since I am running fiberglass fenders on my car, I am also real interested in the options for undercoating that is durable and chip resistant. I was planning on using some kind of "rhino-liner" truck bed material as well since it needs to have a "rubbery" texture to it to ward off spider cracks in my fenders when my sticky tires picks up rocks on the road or track!

      Keep up the great work!

I agree, I'm going to put the end caps back on. I like the spoiler too much to ditch it. I plan to pick up some panel adhesive and blend the caps to the body. Just time and money right?

is that an uncut explorer 8.8 sitting under the car?

like the bumper mod by teh way. id say leave it, and the spoiler end caps.

At the moment it is uncut, I just trimmed all the brackets off. I'm waiting to get the wheels to see if it needs narrowing. I have another short side axle so I can narrow it 3" for free.
