I'll be prettying up the hood hinges as well soon, drilling & chamfering holes, sanding & polishing, etc.
And before anybody asks, yes it has an air cleaner.

Is that a real camaro nose, or a recreation with the correct dimensions? Very cool.

More pics in photobucket link & you tube link. For anyone not registered here that can't use the links, google joe's camaro nose el camino. It will link you to many threads about it, many of which were full of insults from people who probably couldn't change their own oil.
As you can see in 1 photobucket picture, this is an actual camaro ss nose I purchased in oct 09' from recycling place, slightly damaged. Project was a severe pain, had to learn to weld & fabricate with TEO plastic. Removed 3" from center & made MORE pointed than factory version. Made the upper fascia into my hood with a real snorkel opening instead of the fake mailslot. Have yet to hear of anyone else doing a conversion like this or a hood opening like mine. ?? Headlights were 100% handmade with sylvania glass projectors from a junkyard Daewoo, There were no used parts available in oct 09" like there are now. I need to get back to work on improving the hood mehanism. I,ve been on my own for ideas-can't find anything else with the same movement.

I wouldn't do that to an El Camino myself, but you did a great job!
I looked at the video in your signature aswell, but damn. The car looks amazing!

      That is some fabulous work!
The only thing I would change is the wheels and tires......too old school for the amount of custom work you have done so far.

Agreed,it's just a money thing right now. Most people have no idea how low my budget has been last few years. I do have 2 cans of plasti dip to sample on the wheels for now & possibly that outdated silver lower section till I custom make ground effects that look like extended rockers.

JL, Im a big fan of the front end conversion, but thats were it ends, you need to clean it up.The back screams redneck hurst with a touch of starwars hahahahahah,
1.Paint the bottom half of the car black like the rest
2.Get rid of the medevil theme
4.remove the back bumper and put a roll pan in it
5.remove the trans am wing or cover in the back, looks like a roll up camper
      6. Get rid of those trucker rims and slap on some stock chevy 2010 camaro rims

Guess I walked into some of those comments.I do live in redneck country being so close to Georgia. Some people around here don,t know when to apply brakes, so I ain't gettin no rollpan, will be doing a different bumper later though. As anyone who bothers to read may have noticed, I will be getting rid of the silver when new ground effects are made & might just plasti dip the wheels black till I can afford others.
Knew I shouda stuck to pics of most recent mods. Payback is hell getting picked on by someone with flowers under their hood.
      All in good fun.
