Car looks nice. Are you using the wheels in the second post or are they just for mock up?

You have a good start to a good project. I will be watching this one as I have to do the same rear tub to my 64 fairlane to get some good rubber under it.

Thanks guys. Those wheels are throw away wheels as they are all busted up. The only reason I have them was to test fit because they have REALLY wide 275's on them. I'll probably just get some deep dish 17x10.5 Bullitts to match the fronts.

I'm not sure if the chrome is what I really want anymore so I may entertain ideas on paint schemes for them

Ok, leaf spring sliders. Yay or nay. I'm at the point to start measuring for putting the leaf springs back in.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

only ptoblem with sliders on a sreet car is the jam up so quick with corrosion and road debris. that and getting the front end of the spring, as well as the spring wedge right for geometry purposes. we had some guys in the pts10 world messing with them, and they never seemed tolive up to the idea/
your experience may be different, though.

My budget is too small to throw some your way. If you did a weld on kit it would only run you about $500, not talking about one of the g-link type kits. just a simple 3 or 4 ling with a panhard bar and some budget coilovers. But I hear you, $300 here and $500 there realy ads up over time. I finished up my subframe/frame connectors and bracing this weekend, turned out great and now I am ready to drop in the engine next weekend. Your are making great progress, much faster than I did.

Duster- just what I wanted to hear. Turns out that some spare roll bar tubbing I have is withing .015 of the original frame sleeve for the shackle bushings.

Low- cool man. I don't like to waste time, I only get a few hours a day to work on it. I got both rails welded up and my previously narrowed rail, widdened back out. Now I get to make all my filler plates... Yay....

I picked up a nice "new to me" Miller 150 gas rig and wow what a better machine than what I was using.

      Shackles fit now.

      Before:

      After:

I made it out of 16ga sheet and doubled up around to spring eye. Feels much beefier than the stock portion.

      These shall hold up
