Well, looks like paint will come sooner than later. I was uncovering many more rusty spots and poorly repaired panels and while tacking my wheel well lip to the wheel well, something cought fire and boiled a blob of paint on my wheel opening. I now have a nice 1"x1" spot on the side on my car that's straight through to the primer, Fml!

I trimmed the top portion of the metal frame which mounts to the car (it is a fold down seat if anyone didn't know). I think I may have trimmed a few other pieces but that it all. I never got the bottom portion fully mounted so it sort of floated around. I'll be pulling it out and selling it. The back portion is a bit narrower than factory so some sort of filler panel will need to be fabed up.

Wow you've done quite a bit of work since I've last been on here. Everything looks awesome. Good to know about how narrow the back is. That should fit mine perfectly than. I mini tubed a little more than the norm. Great job!

Thanks, I feel like I am getting no where. I'm suffering from the "while I'm at it"s and it is dragging things on and uncovering things.

Yea but it'll pay off in the end. Did you end up making a decision on paint?

I believe I'll stay with this blue, it has always got a ton o attention and the women love it. Plus, google "grabber blue 66 mustang" and my car is in the first 2 results. So that's kinda cool, I'll add some black trim though.

I've been knocking around different ideas for a rear spoiler for the car. I hated the end caps that came with the deck lid so I put the stock ones back on, now the spoiler is not attractive so I taped I different styles of cuts. The blue portion is what would be left over. It's still up in the air for a final cut but Lowfast is helping me out a bit. Ideas?

Btw, it's amazing how close in color painters tape is to my car.

Nooo, lol. I'd put the end caps back on. Always liked that look on a coupe.
      Your car, your decision though.

Looking back at the pics I am thinking you either keep the end caps to match up with the spoiler or delete the decklid spoiler all together. I think it is going to be very difficult to transition without the end caps. The other option would be to go with a fabricated "race" type spoiler and paint it the graphite/black to plan for the rest of the trim on the car, I think that would look nice and agressive., this would be the way I would go.

I will do a few sketches over the pics you sent last night if I get a break in work today and shoot over any ideas I might have.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

Not seeing it. I know what you could do but... I can see it in my mind what you should do but cannot find a picture or remember the project that did it. I'll look around but basically, its a small decklid spoiler. Its not likely to be very functional but may give a subtle style change for you.

I have the thing for sale if that means much. I may do the race type aluminum spoiler on the stock lid.

If I had your fab skills I would cut it in the middle for a look similiar to this:

But the metal spoiler in black would look good with the big tires

Thanks for the kind words but my fab skills are rough as a cob. I think it's a combo of cell phone camera, crappy lighting and helpful members!!

Now that looks pretty sweet. Not a fan of the huge wing on the red one, although I know it is function over form.

      Zit looking gas cap though.

So y'all don't think I'm out galavanting around somewhere I took the day off and after taking the wife shopping I hit the car up with the welder. More of my crappy fab work. Wheel tub filler spot welded in and then I stitched the top side for a smooth finish once ground down. Boring and slow progress but its all I have.
