They're moved out and against the metal on the engine bay. So what I might do now that I'm looking at it again, I may flip the plates 180 and redrill the holes.

You sure you have them on the correct sides of the car?

Agree with CSG to try switching sides with the plates.

Also be aware that having the fuel pressure regulator on the firewall won't pass tech at drag strips. The concern is that should there be a clutch or torque convertor disaster you'd cut the fuel lines open. Sanctioning bodies don't want the fuel lines in the direct path of shrapnel. I found out the hard way many many years ago by failing tech because I also thought the firewall was a convenient place for a fuel pressure regulator.

The plates are identical, I took one apart, flipped everything around and redrilled the holes in the body, made a huge difference.

FPR is already moved and will be on the front fender apron. Good input though, thanks.

Do you have a pic of what you did to the plates? Planning to do the same with my AJE front end

Couple weeks of working late nights, I've got all the rubberized coating stripped, filler plates in, patch panels replaced, body work and it's finally painted. Cleaning and rust repair on 50 year old vehicles is WAY worse than working on fox/sn95 cars haha. Most of my time was spent scrapping and cleaning ****, it's insane how gooey this car was. Once I started sanding it uncovered years and years of various levels and types of paint used. I stripped it all to bare metal, used a 2k filler primer and John Deere Blitz black. Time for reassembly, don't mind the water, my son got a little carried away playing. Oh and I still need to flip the passenger side plate.

I just went back and looked at yours, you're using the AJE struts right? I'm not and didn't want to spend the $800 for a pair of struts, we see how that's working out right now though

Anyone have any neat ideas for clamping the AC lines to the frame rail?

Since the Shelby style export brace wont fit under my CC plates, I decided to build my own. Still needs finish welding and I'm considering added more braces. Also trying to decide how I want to do my exhaust, 4" out the back doesn't provide me with enough ground clearance. Hood exit?

Made some progress, wiring continues and am just down to the small details of it, intercooler piping has been redone and connected, oil catch can installed, putting exhaust back on, throttle body flange welded. One issue I have is that the AJE K member raised my entire engine up so now I must modify the engine mounts and add spacers between the k-member and frame rail to lower the engine back down and hope that it doesn't throw off my lower control arm angle too much. Hopefully that helps with all the random fitment issues I've been having.
