I’ve also been scouring eBay for some used carbon off of Nascars or similar style cars. It’s usually extremely cheap and very lightly used.
a pair of brake ducts that should fit inside my rotors pretty well

the other piece is a throttle pedal. I modified the stock pedal arm to mount it and milled the carbon piece to be adjustable for height and angle. I may cut off the vertical foot rest, but I’ll wait to see how it feels in the car

I pulled the wiper door from the mold today... as-is it comes in at 5.5 oz... the factory door weighs 74oz. I still need to add some reinforcement layers and a few threaded inserts so that will add a few more oz, but still a great savings up high on the car.

thanks, Richard! these parts were both from NC but I don’t recall where... the whole state seems to be a Mecca for those types of parts... for good reason!

Collecting a few parts to update my rear suspension (before I even drove on it!)

The knuckle assembly is a modified C4 corvette piece currently set up with a stoptech ST40 and C6 Z51 rotor. The update changes this to a C7 Z51 (front) Stoptech Aero rotor, a C7 bearing/hub with MSI 5/8" wheel studs, IPSCO spot caliper and Dutchman 934CV stub axles. This should eliminate the thought of breaking the stock C4 stub axle/hub thats been in the back of my head forever...

      Existing setup:

      Nice looking collection of parts!!!

Did you bag the idea of the Tesla e parking brake?

FWIW- Wilwood is coming out with a e parking brake caliper that will handle a 1.25" thick rotor.

Like the idea you are keeping the wiper door. I used a rear wiper motor to control mine- smaller/lighter than the old Miata stuff being used- and no pwm needed for speed control. Using the same motors for my headlights.

Richard- the Tesla setup is for our ‘55 Chevy shop car... the Tesla calipers won’t fit over a 30mm rotor without modification. I suppose I could have made them work, but I’ve had my eye on these IPSCO’s for a while.

I like your wiper door automation too!

Chris, can you give us a run down of your brake pedal set up, or are you using the factory pedal assembly? The factory pedal in the C2 is something in the range of 5:1....obviously not ideal for manual brakes. I'm looking into how to cut up/modify/weld the factory C2 pedal box to mount a Tilton 600 series overhung assembly for better feel on my manual brakes.
