What muffler you running and why.

I'm ready for mufflers and exhaust and running low. I was interested in what mufflers you're all running and why. Also, what you've run in the past and why you've switched to something different. Interested in all your edgemicated info.

I am running spintech 2.5in side exit exhaust because.. they sound good and exit out the side ;) lol

and with my supra i am running a 3in single downpipe with a HKS Carbon Ti exhaust tip, but that wouldn't matter on this site unless somebody was doing a v6 build or perhaps a single turbo ahahhahahahahaha

i've run flowmaster 3 chambers, and swapped to Borla XR1, the Borlas sound good but are still realtively quiet compared to the flowmaster, this was also with 3 inch pipes.

Subscribing to this thread... I have an offroad Hpipe and flowmaster 2-chambers on my Camaro, but when I swap the engine out later this year (to LS3 hopefully) I will probably switch exhaust to something else.

Spintechs are hard to beat for that crisp sound. We just put a pair of 3" magnaflow mufflers on our 65 Olds and with 630HP it was WAY too loud at WOT.. We added another set of 5" rounds to quiet it down. Much better!

3-1/2" Borla XR-1's. Love the rasp on the Borla's with no resonate drone associated with chamber muffs.

I had a 2.5" straight with a chambered Flowmaster type of mufflers... Too loud and obnoxious.

So I went with a Magnaflow with and X-Pipe 2.5". Much smoother until you hit WOT, then it Roars.. very happy with that setup.

I had 3" Magnaflows but they really didn't quiet the car down any, and they were a pain in the ass to fit under the car (24" long). Now I'm looking for something else.

I also like the borla's low profile #40536 but the inlet/outlet is 3 1/2", to big. So now I'm leaning towards the Spintechs 3".

X2, I have 2.5 with h-pipe out to Magnaflows. I had Flowmasters on there and they were way too loud. The Magnaflows have an awesome burble at idle, and really rip when you get on it.

What Magnaflow part # did you guys use? (or dimensions). I need to replace my loud 2 1/2 " flowmasters.

Oval 3" x pipe and spintechs. Sounds awesome but I do have a bad resonance at cruise speeds.

I like the sound and size of the Hushpowers. I'm also not a believer in big tubing. 2.5 inch has always worked well for me. I usually aim more for torque.
The rule is measure twice and cut once. My problem is I still measure with a mic and cut with an axe!

My car has pypes violators and haven't had any other mufflers on it. Got them cause I like the way they sounded listening to clips of em on other cars. I like how they are not that loud cruising, but get loud at WOT. If interested in how they sound check out my youtube.

I think all Magnaflows' internals are basically the same...
