I just hope that fire and cliff you have in your signature aren't in my future. They have limited the speed this year do to the draught and high risk of fire LOL

What a weekend in Arnold, NE. Ran the 1/2 mile and the optima 91 mph class in the Sandhills Open Road Challenge. We averaged 92, which is not a good thing, but had a great time. This area opens their arms and runs a fantastic event. To play in the same sandbox with the top pro touring drivers and cars it was an honor indeed.

The highlight was Saturday night at the awards ceremony when all of the hard work was rewarded with optima's pick for the Ultimate Street Car in Vegas. This still seems like a dream. Thank you Optima for the invite and we'll see you in Vegas.

Finally put the Monte on a set of scale. In review it has a Schwartz G- machine chassis, LS1/4L60E, Procar front seats, 275/35/18 and 335/30/18 on XXR rims. No passengers, full fuel tank. Here is what we discovered,

      3407 lbs 43.8 rear. 56.2% front

How does this compare to other G bodies?

My Grand National weighs 3,220 with drag wheels. My drag wheels were @ 100lbs lighter than my 18's street wheels. I dont remember the details or front/rear bias. Full car other than a/c delete. Id say 3,400 is about as good as it gets with a "pro-touring" G-body with a/c.

Great weekend at LS Fest. Got as much seat time at the autocross I could. Ran respectable times for a good car and rookie driver. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions on driving line and chassis setup.

Just ordered our SEMA Pro-Touring dinner tickets. This will be an AWESOME week.

Hopefully I can finish up fall lawn applications this week. Plan is to relocate the battery to the trunk, install an auxiliary transmission cooler, and an oil accumulator. Autocross school this Saturday and event on Sunday. Another autocross on October 7.

Thanks again optima for the invite to OUSCI.

Yikes! People ask me all the time what my wagon weighs, I just tell them I guess around 3600. Since the Schwartz chassis drops weight and you've got some light weight stuff on there my car must be a tank. With the addition of the roll cage, boxing my frame and adding all the support braces, I'm guessing I ADDED 200-300lbs. I have Mazda production front seats, cast 17x9.5 wheels, and an iron small block Chevy too. Maybe my car is closer to 3800, lol!

Congrats on the mag dealio! That's my dream, to have a car featured, so I say that's way cool for you!

Notified today that optima is having TOPPS, the baseball card people, make trading cards of each OUSCI participant. They will receive 200 cards of their car to hand out at SEMA. This deal just keeps getting better and better.
