The roof skin had rust all around the windshield/rear window. Instead of patching all that channel, the decision was made to just replace the roof skin. We were pleasantly surprised to see how good the roof skin structure was

The roof skin was just laid in place but Matt was happy with the fit of the AMD roof skin

This was an area that surprised me: the top corner of the cowl on the driver's side was pretty ugly... It looked scaly so the decision was made to remove the corner and install a new AMD piece. It did have lots of scale but wasn't rusted through. I believe this is the last rust issue to address....I hope.

Yeah-it was disappointing. I wouldn't have needed to do everything I did. I could have gotten by with a lot less...but it would have bugged me. I think we would all be shocked by the rust/corrosion that is still present in most "restored" cars. You saw how clean it looked after having it media blasted.....If I didn't opened up some of the sealed/unseen areas (frame rails, cowl, overlapping sheetmetal) to show the rust, you would have never known it was there! If nothing else, I want other people to see what can be lurking....

I just finally rebuilt the thread after the photobucket extortion attempt. The Barracuda has been on the backburner as I focus on my 1968 Roadrunner build. Hopefully Ill have some more progress soon though.

I've pulled 2 other full builds (a 68 Charger and a 68 Roadrunner) in front of the Barracuda but am planning to start working on the Barracuda again this fall.
