Like all projects this is moving slower than I'd like. I've made a little bit of progress thanks to help from friends this weekend. Thanks Doug!

Here are a couple more pics of the finished tubs from the trunk. Still haven't gotten under the car to take pics of the frame mods yet.

Shot in the pic makes the paint look a lot rougher than reality.

Pulling the perfectly good running fuel injected ZZ4...

Doug, hardcore motor man. Notice we are pulling the motor in the alley behind my house (no room in garage). Go redneck style!

My buddy Jason isn't a car guy but always willing to help me out.

Engine bay starting to look lonely

And the motor is out. Still need to get it ready for the new buyer. You can see the bottom of it's replacement peaking in the background.

TCI has my front subframe ready to be picked up so I need to get back out there and take the subframe out once I get the old motor out of the garage.

Here is the champ pan I'm throwing on my new mast motor. if anyone needs an LH8 pan let me know.

Hoping to modify a brand new rock valley tank for use with Carl's vaporworx system. The rockvalley tank will probably need a new tray and it has a cylindrical baffle 360* around the fuel pump assembly that will need to be cut out.

I guess I'm famous now right? ha ha. A quick Popular Hot Rodding video about the October 2011 cover shoot which has my car in it.

In the spirit of this thread pay attention to the last thing I say in this video...

      http://www.popularhotrodding.com/car...SlNFYEUB5LPpv9

Video is cool but sadly the cover shot doesn't exactly showcase my car a whole lot

      Hey David,

No real updates yet. Having to deal with a sudden forced move in the middle of a bunch of planned trips and busy time at work makes for slow progress. I actually sent the car back to Pomona Valley Customs to have them do the work. Though its been on hold at their shop for the time being as there is some potential interest from the mags in covering the build up and we need the rear wheels to order the rest of the rear suspension (mainly the rear end from currie). Of course I'm one of the folks that got royally hosed by the Fikse disaster. I'm now waiting on Forgelines.

Since we all love pics here was the send off lol.

      Very nice Chad,
What oil filter are you using for the champ pan, I was told 05 GTO and it's wrong or they sent me the wrong one, I need a filter with a 22mm thread, any idea?

Rick, whatever crosses to Fram PH10060

Chad, good to see progress is happening, albeit slowly.

Tom is correct. A PH10060 works. I'm using a PF48 the ACDelco version. These filters come on LS3 applications and probably a lot more.

If you want a bunch of oil filter info... here you go (as taken from LS1tech by "1 FMF"):

it sounds like you got a filter for the newer LS2/3 motors, their oil filter thread is different than for the older LS1 motor, you do not want a PF-48 or hp-1017, that is for the newer LS motors, yours is an LS1.

the cross ref's i have for the LS1 are this,
with the original oem being AC-delco PF44, the part number is now PF46.
the long length filter is PF-61,

      mobil M1-107 (short)
      mobil M1-206 (long)
      napa 1045 (long)
      fram ph3506 (short)
      fram ph3675 (long)
      K&N hp1007 (short)
      K&N hp 2006 (long)

the old LS1 filters have a 13/16-16 thread,
the hp-1017 and any filter for the newer LS3 has a 22x1.5mm metric oil filter thread according to K&N, which is why it didn't screw on.

and for the PF46 / PF61 oil filter for the LS1,
      the o-ring gasket is 2.625"
the short length filters (PF46) are 4.25" and the long length filters (PF61) are 6.25".

If its not ready for RTTC then shoot me now...

(please don't make me eat these words...)

I did drop off a whole bunch more goodies at Pomona Valley Customs today. Dropped off the Mast Motorsports motor, the trans, and all associated goodies.

Sadly they haven't started on the car. Anyone supprised the magazine guys are still hemming and hawing? If no definitive coverage decision by Friday PVC will start the work.

Those deals are hard to negotiate this late in the year.

It would be nice to have some seat/tune time with the car prior to RTTC.

Thanks for the filter info guys!

Chad I hope I make RTTC and I have all the parts to put it together! I can't get motivated if it's below 70deg outside!
