How to get credit from a Vendor?

There is a certain vendor who owes me a 260$ credit from overcharging me on items I bought from him. Now before I blast his name everywhere I thought I would ask you guys what I should do in order to get this back. Last time I heard from this guy was on Jun 22 when he told me he was going to put it back on my card or send me a check. I have sent 2 emails since then and he is ignoring me.

This is a large vendor who sells a ton of parts to people on these forums and I am not the first one complaining publicly.

If you would like to keep this anonymous I would suggest giving me the credit back. Especially if you want me to order more parts....

Maybe you should write him an email or give him another call and try one more time.

If that doesnt work start out with notifing the BBB. Owners dont want that on their record.

talk to your credit card if you used one.

Call them again; email never works in this type of situation. Tell him you are calling your CC company.

Call your credit card and dispute the charge.

If its a place you want to continue business with just buy another $300 from them and have them apply the credit towards that. If you dont need anything and he is slow on refunding then dispute the charge. Surely you paid by credit card?

      Frank @ Prodigy,
This is your last chance to give me the money you owe me or I will dispute every dollar I have ever spent with you on Monday morning by calling my credit card company. You no longer go on Lat G because of this very reason.

I have ordered lots of parts from you but this is not cool man. It took you 3 months to send me my Vintage Air kit that was supposedly "in stock" and you lost my steering linake order with Speedtech. I found it by calling Blake myself and tracking my parts down.

My invoice is from APRIL and it is JULY. You have had more then enough time to resolve this.

      John,

John, I did call for the card number. You need to give it to me, we do not keep them on file. Or I can send a check. Nothing has changed.

What has NOT happened has you have NOT called me with the card number.

There is always so much more to these stories. And we certainly hold our portion of the blame. But this threatening to post now has become the IN Vogue thing to do over issues.

So this does go back a long way, because John asked the credit to be applied to a glass order he placed on April 6 and never paid, instead he killed the project on May 14. But the credit floated on that glass invoice (attached) until he killed the project on May 14.

I bring all this up because I was not going to bring this up to Lisa on our first weekend off in 4 months, but when I brought this up to Lisa after I responded to the post mind you, she says, Wait a minute! I did that credit!

So sure enough we check and Lisa's did try to credit it. But because it is over 120 days old it did not go back on his card. We run a dozen charges a day sometimes and get confirmations on each on, and what we thought was a confirmation was a rejection do to age of transacation. Keeping in mind from the time of order to mid June when the CC info was resent by John to me, more then half that 120 days was after the credit was applied to another invoice.

I only assumed the cc info got missed when in reality Lisa did catch it and handle it. And no we do not discuss every single transaction and breath one another takes. I just assumed i was taking the hit on this one.

So long story short, I do have to send John a check.

And BTW, I missed Fridays email John. I had some training classes Friday, if you would have called you would have got that message.

But I do find it interesting in this new in vogue way of resolving issues one chooses to post first and email second. Post at 11:34, email at 11:45

I am going to ask one last time for my $260 credit to be put back on my card. Otherwise I have to report it to the credit card company and do a chargeback. You have my card number as I have sent it already in previous emails.

      John Samples

So anyway, Monday we will send a check

Thats odd you replied on lat g that you have my card number in the email i sent....

Was I going to order glass? YES. However once I seen how long it took to get my Vintage Air and steering linkage (2 months) I changed my mind on ordering anything that was supposedly "in stock". The trust on getting my parts was lost.

Did I write you that email AFTER I posted this? YES, only after writing multiple emails since May 14th(see above). It is now July 17th. Why did I post this ? Because it seemed to be the ONLY way to get my 260$ back as you were not responding any other way. Now granted it is not a ton of money but I can buy quite a few tanks of gas with that money.

As soon as I get the 260$ I will DELETE everything I have posted. Then you can go about your business selling parts.

AND FYI. Posting my address and phone number for the world to see is a good way to get sued. I suggest you edit that invoice to remove my personal info

I've removed the invoice from Frank's post. I'm also locking the thread, as the matter seems resolved for the time being. Please PM if either of you wish to post again.
