Being an auto technician, this comes off as easy, but it's hard for me to imagine how some people pay for the repairs their vehicles need at shop prices. I couldn't afford to have someone else do it. Good job, and I see the tools you used didn't break the bank either. I went to HF today and took advantage of their parking lot sale to get some "necessities" where quality isn't a need. That place is contagious.

Thanks Ric, you're right I got the tools from HF. For the vacuum pump and the guage set I'm in it for $150. Plus now I have the tools for the future. Always a plus in my book.

Getting ready to take the car on it's first long ride, out of state to visit some friends.
I have the a/c taken car of, an 18" spare tire, now I just think I should have a tool box mounted in the trunk(you never know).
I found this one a few years ago and thought it would be perfect for the Camaro. It's been sitting on a shelf just waiting for me to get around to mounting it.
I have an idea for securing it in the trunk. Now I just have to get some angle iron, velcro straps, nut zerts, s/s bolts, my welder, some paint, and I should have it done.

While I'm at it, I should mount a fire extinguisher too.

Hey Paul, was wondering how you transitioned from the round bar in the back when you cleaned up the gap between the tail section and the trunk? Any picks? Came out great by the way.

Thanks Matt, after I welded in the round bar I then cut, fit, and welded in sheet metal on the top and the front so the round bar would transition into the body. In this picture just the top piece is partially welded in.

I discovered plastidip this year as well, I love the idea, I did the front signal light housings and the front grill and rad support, I love that its no prep, just paint, and when your done, just peel it off! Your whole car paint job turned out great! I like the headlight conversion as well.

Looking great! Looks sinister in the black plastidip. And great work on the trunk gap. What I don't like is that you beat me to it! I've been wanting to do that for years to my 71 Camaro, and I'm still years from doing it. That's bugged me for a long time how inconsistent those gaps are. I see some factory cars that are decent, and others that are horrible. I was going to tighten up that gap, along with using a Cadillac pulldown latch so I don't have to slam it shut.

Thanks Josh, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who is bugged by that.
GREAT idea on the Cadillac pulldown latch. I'm DEFINITLY stealing that one.

Spent some time making a tool box frame and tie down and here is what I ended up with.
Holds the box in nice and tight.

Man, really like the functionality of all your mods. Everything is well thought out and balanced. Really makes for a car that can be daily driven and used on a regular basis. Look forward to more!

Thanks, that was my goal. I wanted to be comfortable with everything and not think twice about being able to drive it anywhere, anytime. no matter how far.

Ok, so last week we were blasting around in the Camaro. All the fun stuff I can now do with modern suspension and braking is now a drag with my butt sliding all over the place in my 1970 seats.
Couldn't take it anymore. Popped the seats up on Ebay and they sold right away. Plus they completely paid for my new Scat rally seats and sliders. Even had money left over for a few other things I want to add to the Camaro. I think they fit the Camaro perfectly.
Here is a picture of the new seats, should be here on sat.

My seats came and I wasted no time getting to work on them.
I have read a lot about these seats on many forums, the reviews were always good. The main thing I kept reading was how if you were 6' tall you were going to have cut and reweld the seat brackets.
The way they come puts you way above stock. So I scheduled the whole weekend in the garage to be cutting, fitting, and rewelding. Opened the box put everything together, set the brackets on the lowest setting and put them in. Well, to my surprise and delight they are perfect. They place me at the exact same height as the stock seats. I could not have asked for a better fit.
The look of them also fits the car perfectly. They look like they were made for it. Plus now the seats match the suspension and my butt won't slide all over the place.
It's raining today so I can't drive it but I did sit in the car and make vaaaarrrrrooooommmmm noises.

      Thanks,
They are Scat Procar Rally seats. You can find them on SummitRacing.com or Jegs.com, I bought them from Summit.
