      LT1 Compressor Hose Routing

I have an LT1 with the corvette accessory system and am using a VA Gen IV Surefit. With the corvette setup the AC compressor is on the drivers side, no big issue with the #6 line, but the #10 line is causing some head scratching. The firewall is smoothed, so I do not want to route it behind the heads along the firewall. My plan is to take is to the passenger side behind the fender and in through the bulkhead, which is where the #6 and heater hoses come through.

My delima is that there is no good place to come across the front of the engine. The best place I can find is between the throttle body and the water pump/timing cover. However, the #10 hose is too large to fit, but I could do a custom bent hardline that would work slick for this location and then put in a union for the rubber hose in back of the power steering pump resevoir.

My concern is that the hard line will not be insulated (about 18-24" in length), will this cause an issue? Where is the best location for the service port (how far from compressor)?

There will be no problem with an uninsulated length of hardline. Regarding the service port, they are generally located (on OEM applications) for easy access to the overhead floating charge station that follows them along the assembly line. It could be located on the compressor itself without issue.

That is good to hear, I cannot think of another way to route the line. Thanks.
