Chad, thanks for your offer of help at Del Mar when the One Lap Camaro clutch went up in smoke.

Chad, as always, thanks for announcing! I've been to several shows with autocrosses that have had another announcer and they're just not the same.

      first four events for 2011

Hope you all have had a good time at the first four Goodguys events and three of them had the Goodguys AutoCross. We have fifteen events during the season that have the AutoCross and looking forward to adding others for 2012 and adding some Sunday AutoCrosses to the mix.

Next up is Nashville TN that will have the AutoCross running all three days. Yes Sunday from 9 to noon we will be running the AutoCross and the winners will be challenging the track all three days to figure out the winner.

On another note the Truck class has been won at all three events by one guy!!!! it is time to knock him off and get another truck into the mix...Calling all trucks!!!

The Vendor class has seen three different winners with Bret from Ride Tech, Kyle Tucker from Detroit Speed and Mike Maier from Maier racing. So far two Fords and a Chevy.

After Nashville Goodguys will be doing two AutoCrosses on the same weekend, one in Colorado and one in Pleasanton CA. I will be at the one in Pleasanton and Trent will be in Colorado. Hope to see some of you there.

Please make sure you use the $3.00 off spectator ticket price if you go to an event without a car. Special promotion just for members.

See you at an event soon,
      Goodguy Ed

IMO the El Camino belongs in the truck class. Also everything is better with more El Caminos.

The "whole story" of the death of the OneLapCamaro clutch...

      http://www.lsxtv.com/news/video-clutch-modulation-fail/

The good news (if there is any good news) is that we had a complete clutch and flywheel on the shelf in case of just such an emergency. One week until Long Beach and then it's on it's way East for the One Lap so time is ticking but I think that we have things under control...

      Carnage pics...

      The outer disk looked bad...

but the floater disk had some pretty colors...

but was not as flat as it once had been...

      warped just a little bit...

which took it's toll on the inner disk...

but now its on it's way back together...

You would think it should have a wing or at least a splitter right? Talk about going backwards in the aero department.....

      One Lap Camaro

      James,
Thanks for the use of the One Lap Camaro for the Goodguys Editors Shootout. Sorry it smoked the clutch but glad to see you have it all together already.

Thanks to Bret with Ride Tech and Dan with Hotchkis for letting us use their cars. Special thanks to Stacy and Kyle for lending us the Chevy II and the Camaro to finish the Editors Shootout after the clutch problem with James Camaro.

Looking forward to the Goodguys AutoCross Sponsor Shootout at Columbus on Sunday as we will see some of the fastest cars and drivers running for the bragging rights and prizes for being the fastest sponsor of the AutoCross for 2011.. should be great.

      Goodguy Ed
